Unhappy Installed Dom's Navi -> Malfunction Indicator?

I just got Dom's Navi yesterday morning and installed it at night. The install went pretty smoothly. However, on my way home after doing the install, I noticed that there was a funny amber light on next to the key indicator lamp. I looked it up and found that it's the malfunction indicator lamp. Now, I'm almost positive that the light wasn't on before I did the mod.

Does anybody know if anything I did could have triggered this light to go on? e.g. could this light be set off by a cable / hose that I forgot to reconnect or a fuse that was blown, during installation, etc.

The only parts I tinkered with were the center console and the area behind the navigation screen.

uh... Dom's navi box should be installed in the trunk, between the navi cable and the navi box in the trunk.

IIRC, the instruction explicitly said do not install it behind the center console. Is that where you installed the box?

Nowhere in the instructions does it say not to install behind the screen. As a matter of fact it even states "the wire colors at the navi are the same as behind the screen". And I called and spoke with Dom about doing a behind the screen install earlier. Thanks though.

i installed it behind the screen with no probs as well.

in hindsight, i probably should of taken the rear approach, as now i will have fun feeding my rear view camera to the front.

*smacks head*

EDIT: on the other hand, i remembered i also installed a relay back there behidn the audio headunit to get aux in / XM toggling... great sound quality.

the sticker on Dom's piece says right on it, that the warantee is void if you install it in the rear of the navi...........but I have the PNP version, but it shouldnt matter......so I dont know.

Mine does, but whats funny is mine had some kind of sticker on it before that seems to be removed and this one placed where the left overs are. It was a smaller diffrent sticker. I wonder what it said.

The sticker comes off VERY easily....which I don't mind because I HATE peeling off a sticker just to have the sticky side stay on the box. Your sticker might have accidentally come off prior to you getting it.

FWIW: whatever caused the MIL to come on was a temporary problem that went away and did not come back in X number of restarts. So the computer turned off the lamp. But the problem stays stored in the computer. If you can get the code scanned, you can see what it is and decide what to do with it. My guess would be that you pulled something loose with the key on and the computer detected it. The SRS computer is down there under the Nav so maybe you jiggled a connector or something.
