Inconsistent volume control w/ aftermarket amp + OEM HU

Hi Guys,

My installer and I are a bit stumped on a technical issue I'm running into with my 07 TL-S. Just wanted to see if anyone on the forum has experienced a similar limitation with their setup after adding an aftermarket amp to their factory HU.

For starters, here are the detailed information of the work that my friend and installer, Bing completed earlier this year

http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...cura-tl-s.html

The issue: For some reason, the volume of the stereo seems to vary anywhere from 8-10db, ranging from the following scenarios:

- Engine off / Stereo On - Volume plays at desired volume settings

- Engine on / Idle - Volume seems to vary by approximately 4-5db

- Engine on / highway - Volume seems to be lower by 8-10db, even with the HU set at 40 (MAX)

I've tried messing around with the HU settings, including the variable volume control. Still not having any luck. The only thing I could think of is there might be a volume protection feature on the HU and I'm not aware of... other than that.. I am stumped.

Any suggestions?

Never heard of this. Are the mics disconnected? Front and back?

Tell Bing I said hello.

maybe it's the noise cancellation feature that is interfering. not sure though.

Spoke to Bing, he said just the rear since it interrupted the factory sub. The front was untouched since it didn't seem to matter... I wonder if that's the issue?

Just unplug it. Very simple.
