If I upgrade my amp, do I loose HFL?
Hello,
I am been reading into upgrading the amp in my 06 TL (sounds like crap). If I do so, will I the HFL and will I loose the voice on the Nav? I know that I will loose my sub and center speaker, I am OK with that.
Thanks in advance.

i understand from others here that you will be fine with HFL, since it's all 4 speakers, no matter what (assuming you keep the OEM HU).
you only make these compromises if you are swapping out the factory amp for a plug and play tiny amp/harness, which appears to have mixed results.
Many keep Navi by simply leaving the stock amp in it's place for the center channel . You only lose the factory sub if you choose to disconnect the HU sub output, and send it to your amp+aftermarket sub. Most people do this as part of any upgrade on this car. (I am waiting on the sub)
If you do your homework, you can buy an amp that can accept our HU balances signal to avoid buying LOC, and place it under the seat.
This is what I'm having a shop do tomorrow. Upgrading front stage speakers, and putting in JL XD 700/5 under the seat. My plan is to leave center channel and sub on the factory amp for now, then I have time to DIY my sub when it gets warmer. Then I'll disconnect the HU sub output from stock amp, put it on the JL, and be ready to go. I'm using more amp than I need, so i can expand later...and it was a very good deal on Amazon.
I'm very new to this myself, so hopefully someone will verify this info.
