Mainly mp3s and navi.

I have 500+ full albums and album art with a very smooth interface. My navigation is embedded with this frontend as well, with the GPS receiver on the front dash. I have a WiFi adapter that lets me connect to my home network and access the internet.

I have 12GB (around 4000) games and the supporting emulators for a lot of the old video game consoles: NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Sega Genesis, Atari, Atari 2600, Colecovision, MAME (for the old standup arcade games), and a few others....This is all controlled by two playstation controllers, which can also control the mouse so that rear passengers can manipulate the music and navi as well.

Currently, I don't have a DVD drive hooked up; however, on road trips, I just plug in an external DVD player if desired.

The computer consists of a very small form factor desktop motherboard (mini-itx) and an 80GB laptop drive built into the glovebox along with the DC-DC power supply that regulates voltage and controls the startup and shutdown based on the position of the ignition. 7" in dash touchscreen is used for input and output. The PSU allows the PC to survive vehicle cranking if necessary, but on a regular basis waits 3 seconds after the car has been cranked to boot. The PSU (power supply unit) also monitors voltage- if the voltage drops below 11V, it will cut all power to allow enough juice to crank. I never push a button to turn it on- it's very much another part of the car...

no, I haven't posted any pictures b/c the glovebox was very unorganized and wires were everywhere. This was because I did the entire install in 22 straight hours. By the time I got the screen in good and everything put back together, the glovebox and cpu were last and got the least attention at 2pm the next afternoon on no sleep.

After last night, I will be comfortable taking pictures as I redesigned the case and organized more to "finish" the glovebox. I'll try to get some up soon, though the pictures of it in the glovebox never do it justice b/c the lighting is piss poor. I'll see what I can do

I'll make an effort to get some pictures up, but til then, check out moahdib's install. Mine is similar as far as what I did with the dash. I did about 5 months of reading and research and he beat me to the punch by a couple of weeks. I do have to admit that his install spurred me to quit f'ing around and do it.
