I just bought a 05 TL from the US and brought it into Canada. We need to have DRLs on all vehicles up here. This car doesn't have the fog lights down in the grill like the 07s have. The Acura dealerships don't know how to install DRL's the service place that has to do the inspections says b/c the Hids they can't hook up DRL's to any part of the headlight.
They said if it had the lights down in the grill in the bumper they could make those into DRls??
Does this make sense?

I need to here from people on what to do. I can't insure it here till the DRL's are hooked up. That's the final piece of the puzzle.

Anyone in Canada have this issue? I'm sure you out there. What the heck did you do? Who is qualified to do all the wiring? I don't want them screwing up this car!
Would special HID install places be able to do this kinda thing?

Where is a link to the mod for installing the lights in the grill. Which lights do you use? How big of a job? They need to be used as DRL's so I guess I couldn't use HIDs in the grill hey?

Please help, I want to drive this thing not stare at it!!

One last thing. Has anyone heard about flashing the computer to activate the DRLs? I was told in Canada the the 04 and newer TLs from the States can have that done to them. It's funny thought that no dealer has ever heard of that. Anyone???

I doubt you could flash the computer to have some DRL's.

What you can do is have the fog lights hooked up to a DRL module so they run as DRL's when needed and as fogs when needed. That is what many members like yourself have done.
