I am a little screwed with the Alpine component.

So I bought most of what I needed to upgrade the sound system a little bit. I got the Eclipse Point Source for the rear, Kicker Comp C8 free air for the sub, and the ALPINE SPR-17LS component for the front, all from ebay. I was planning to put everything together sometime before Summer. Well, with a couple of free hours along with the itch to try out the Alpines, I ventured out to change the fronts thinking it would be easy.

Low and behold after I opened most of the door panel (could not remove the clip holding the door cable) and the OEM speaker, the Alpine mid would not fit. Its magnet is way too big and a cutout of the steel part of the door is needed. I stopped short and put the door panel back as my 5 yr old son and 2 yr old daughter were jumping all over the taupe interior.

For now, I will be placing everything on hold. Just a few questions for those who have changed the fronts: Do the tweeter wires lead down to the door speaker? I did not see any since my door panel wasn't completely removed. I wonder how you can connect the tweeter to the aftermarket crossover if its wires are not connected inside the door panel. If you have a picture, posting it would be nice.
