I-160: USA Spec Install

That is really strange. There should be no interaction, whatsoever, with the drive reader and the only thing that's going between the USASpec module and the back of the head unit is a minor amount of signal; I wouldn't think it's enough to blast your nav unit to pieces like this. Honestly, I'm stumped.

This is my first official post here, I love this forum. I just installed my USAspec PA15-HON3 in my 04 w/ Navi. took me awhile, but I think it would've been next to impossible without this walkthrough. Great Job and Thanks for the info!
I should note, though, Im having the Navigation reboot problem that was mentioned in another post. Other than that the product is pretty dope, Im happy so far.

Compatibility
Hi guys, This may seem like a silly question but seeing as how the model is called USA Spec I was curious if this is guaranteed compatible with Canadian model TL's? I have an 06 base TL and any electronic places up here say they have nothing for AUX ipod integration and that it would be based on FM transmission which in my opinion is useless as your losing your digital sound quality when transmitting and totally not worth the money. Any info would help

For those that installed the PA15-ACU XL into their Type-S, I'm wondering if there is much different from this guide in the RL forum: https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-90/i-042-diy-ipod-kit-pa15-acu-xl-791103/
I'm assuming we're working on the passenger side instead of the driver side (behind the nav dvd rom) and we also don't have that easy access cutout in the carpeting. Do I just unscrew the 2 (or 4?) big screws and pop out the black plastic clip, peel back the carpet and hook up the electronics as shown in the other guide? I haven't bought the unit yet, wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing before spending the money. Tried following these steps tonight but I had trouble with the black round plastic clip, didn't want to break it and I wasn't sure what's supposed to come off.
