How do I burn MP3's & WAV's and Ipod files to DVD Audio?

I know most of you here are much smarter than me. I know this because it took me three weeks to figure out how to even make a thread. And I am still not sure that I should have even done it!

Anyway, to those of you who can help me. I would like to burn DVD Audios from my IPOD music, MP3's and WAV files. What is the best way to do this? I have brurned these files onto a DVD but when inserted into my 2006 TL it rejects the disk.

So if you don't mind, please help me figure this out in simple understandable terms.

BTW: this forum is great and I appreciate it everyday. The leaders and posters are very much appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Check out this thread, download the GUI and you'll be on your way. Make sure you read through the entire thread in the event you run into a problem. A lot of solutions for the problems encountered. The GUI does work as many will attest, however the result is just a 2 channel DVD-A.

The question is whether the audio system will continue to SUCK while playing DVD'A's. We all know it sucks when playing CD's, the radio and XM.

TriniBwoy, if the sound system doesn't meet your expectations, you should consider replacing the speakers, amp, and subwoofer with aftermarket products. Many members have done so. Just browse this subforum.

friscodave, there are a few commercial products that might interest you (as an alternative to Adobeman's free programs). Ulead MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator (what I use) and Cirlinca DVDSolo are popular ones.

I just drag and drop my songs into the Ulead program to create DVD-Audio discs. Pretty simple I think, but I'm a computer nerd.

Another issue to consider is the type of DVD media you are using. The TL prefers DVD-R to DVD+R. See this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/technology-16/review-sony-ericsson-p900-138007/

Ulead MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator and Ulead MovieFactory 4 are different products. Ulead MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator comes with Burn. Now 2.0 that once you perform a web update, supports DVD-Audio.

For me, after launching Ulead Burn. Now, I select "Create Disc," "Audio disc," "DVD-Audio." That will launch a new window in which I can simply drop my music files.

So.. 1) make sure you are using the correct product 2) perform the product update.

Some notes: The trial version does not let you perform updates and I have yet to try the latest Ulead 5 version.

i never heard the TL sound system yet. im picking mine up tomorrow but i can tell you from experience that a sound system is not all that great.

i had a ridiculous sound system in my accord and as much as i liked the added bass and sound quality, it got to be a pain in the ass. i got the system stolen from my car a month ago and my insurance wont replace a single dime from my system because it was aftermarket. if you get a system, sooner or later, it will get stolen and youll be out of a lot of money when your insurance company refuses to pay for your aftermarket system.

Instead of buying Ulead MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator and Ulead MovieFactory 4, I just bought Burn. Now 2.0 instead, gets the job done and its cheaper that way too!

^ nice! Didn't know that option was available. Thanks for telling us!

The Ulead website lists Burn. Now 1.5 as the latest version though.

when burning audio files to DVD-A what type of files are they supposed to be? Or will the Ulead MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator automaticly convert them to the correct file type?

I made a DVD-A disc last night with .wav audio files using Ulead MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator and the stock unit read it as a DVD-A then spit the disc back out.

Im using Imation DVD-R's.

Ulead MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator will automatically convert your audio files to the correct file type to meet the specs of DVD-Audio. It's been a while since I've read about the DVD-Audio spec, but Ulead should take care of you there.

A few things to try:
  • See if that same disc is playable on your computer. Something like WinDVD will be able to play it.
  • The TL is picky when it comes to DVD-Audio creation. Try to burn at a lower speed (1X).
  • Change to another brand of DVD-Rs. I've had success with Maxell and TDK.
  • Since you already have wav's, try Adobeman's programs.

Good luck and keep us updated!
