what you are saying that the garage opener did not work in your house at fl, but it works at your house in NY, right. If this is the case, you may not have the homelink properly configured for your house in FL.

If you are saying that when you left NYC and it didn't work and when you came back it worked in NYC, it could be a loose wire.

Depending on where you were in Florida and what was nearby, perhaps something could be interfering (assuming it was set up properly). There have been stories in the news here about people living near the Marine Corps base in Quantico whose garage door openers stopped working because the Marines started using the same frequency for something or other, and under FCC rules a garage door opener must accept any interference. Stinks, huh?

My Homelink is sometimes slow to work when I back out of the garage into the morning. Most days it works fine, but some days I have to pull forward closer to the garage door before the door will go down. Very strange, and no pattern to when it happens, and I don't live near the Marine Corps base.

oh, so you mean when you were in FL, the enitre unit didn't work, like no blinking light or anything. But when you got to NYC, it started working again. Odd, I would have the dealer check out the harnesses for shorts or a bad ground connection. Also i would have them check out the unit itself.
