I'm sure its been said, but everytime I get in the car, its just UGH. Why, why why... I assume there isn't a way to hide it (no duct tape) Its been 5 years, guess I'll get used to it.....

I haven't played any cassettes in my TL-S yet, and I doubt I ever will, but wouldn't it be nice to use that opening to put little laptop hard drive in it, with all the mp3's? Or perhaps docking station for your iPod? I would like to have that whole thing apart, and see if it could be modified.

I have-- all my music is on cassettes! I've never bought a music CD for myself and don't own an iPod.
<-- Check out my age.
Don't make me get up out of my wheelchair to come beat your punk a** for insulting the tape deck!

The tape deck can be used for "Cassette Deck iPod Adapters".

considering I just got an 05, it's nice to have the cassette adapter option for my ipod. The only thing that annoys me is the whirring noise of the tape drive while you have it in.

I sat in a 2004 Gallardo today and it had a tape deck

I don't get what's the big deal. It's not that unsightly, unlike the guy I knew who had a cassette deck iPod adapter hooked up to it

I actually used mine the other day. Found some old tapes of the family from when I was 4. It was interesting. I wondered if it would work after never being used.

what 's wrong with that cassete deck? i use it all the time.. as ipod/iphone/mp3 player adapter. IMO it is very useful to me because my car is an 06 and it doesnt have the AUX hole.

They don't even sell cassettes anymore do they? So why offer one in a car is what i'm thinking.

Heck i don't even use CD's anymore, ever since i hooked up my USASPEC ipod all the way. Even the TL having the ability to play DVD-A is not that great, finding DVD-A discs of bands i like is impossible.

I'm always looking for the higher SQ recordings. Tapes are out and many CDs don't offer the quality they used to.

Once you upgrade the system you will really hate the way mp3s, the ipod, and the tape adaptor sounds.

Since I'm a cheap bastard, the cassette deck was actually a selling point for me. I don't own one cassette, but my iPod adapter has found a nice home there. I'd only give up the cassette player if Acura added in that auxilary line in jack.

Maybe I'll upgrade to the iSimple (or something like it) someday, but I'm afraid of anybody touching my dash and adding an unwanted rattle.

Same here, didn't want to take anything apart to do the isimple. Sure its great but for under $5 on ebay for my cassette adapter for my zune, why bother?

Opening up the center rest is easy...at this point I can do it in under 5 min...well worth the investment to do it yourself and have your ipod nicely hidden, and charged and displayed on your oem headunit IMO.

Plus, if you have a rattle...you put it there and can find it although with 6 screws and a few clips holding it all in place...it ain't that hard to take out or put back the way it was intended...rattle free.
