HFL Warm. That can't be normal...

So I've always had battery problems with this car. Mostly because it's not driven that much. I've installed a trickle charger so that I'll have power. This morning, I go to open the garage door, and the overhead console where the HFL unit is located was warm. Has anyone had this problem?

If I unplug it, what stops working? Or do I have a defective unit and I just need to buy a new one?

Very common with the HFL being warm and the battery drain. There's a thread somewhere about a very cheap fix if you can solder yourself. If not, you can always replace the whole unit. Regardless, you need a new module.
