HFL w/ Cingular Treo 650
HFL w/ Cingular Treo 650
I've been having issues with my recently purchased '06TL and the HandsFreeLink to my Treo 650. It's a Cingular version of the phone running code v 1.17. The issues I'm facing are:
1. After saying the number to dial and then confirming the number, the HFL will cause my Treo to "re-boot" as though I had pulled it's battery or pushed the reset button.
2. I have to go through the process of telling HFL the number to dial, and then confirming the number two consequtive times before the phone call is actually placed.
The challenging part is that neither of the above issues happen 100% of the time. The phone might work for 8-10 calls in a row and then cause 1 of the two issues above.
I have spoken with the Acura Technology Help Desk via my dealer and they gave me a few suggestions to try but so far to no avail. Do any of you have a Cingular based Treo 650 (running code v 1.17 which is the latest and greatest) working successfully?
Thanks.

A lot of times these problems can be associated to be poorly written app you may have installed on the phone.
What kind of 3rd party apps did you install on the phone?
1.17 is indeed the latest and greatest and includes the bluetooth updates that makes your phone more compatible with the car.

I only really have two 3rd party apps installed. My company uses Credant software to secure the device and all the data on it in case the Treo get's lost and we also use software by Good which allows for e-mail, corporate directory and accessing internal web pages. Other than that, it's pretty much a stock phone.
I have the same phone and firmware and I've only had the HFL crash it a handful of times. I also run GoodLink and several third-party apps.
One thing I find will almost always crash it is if I get an email right as I initiate a call or if I start the car with the car charger attached.

I will sometimes get a crash if my Chatteremail is running on my Sprint T650 as well. Situation has improved for me with the later Chatter versions.
I'd be curious if you could totally close out of GoodLink and see if your condition improves.
