Hello,

I just noticed over the past few days that my phone wasn't connecting to the HFL properly. Then I noticed that the steering wheel button seems to be dead, it doesn't mute the radio or do anything for that metter. So I navigated to the Hands Free Link meny on teh dash and hit OK. It said "Booting Up" just below the words Handsfree Link (which I've never seen it say before). I figured it was doing something, until many minutes went by. Eventually after a 20 minute car ride I realized it would never actually "Boot Up." Anyone have an idea what's wrong?

try taking out the fuse to see if it allows you to get past that. If you still can't, then you need to replace your HFL unit.

 

good idea, I'll try that. any idea which fuse - is it in the book?

 

It's the fuse for "lighting" i.e. interior lights. Turn on your overhead interior lights, and pull out the fuse. If your lights go out, it's the right fuse.

If the problem is not just a one-time glitch but persists, the dealer may need to replace the HFL.
