HFL questions

hi all, i'm still kinda new about the TL stuff, i've searched and read the owner's manual several times but couldn't find the answer.

i have a 06 base, and the steering wheel has the "talk/back" button, also when i scroll the MID, i can see "handsfreelink". so that means i have the HFL function in my car, right? but the problem is, i press the "talk" button, nothing response. i don't hear any prompt. if i use the MID and go to "handsfreelink", then press the "select" button, the MID says "booting up" but that stays forever.

can someone tell me if my HFL unit is not working or there's some other way to make it works? thank you so much.

Your HFL is not working, is locked up and will need to be replaced (under warranty) if it is not unlocked by the time you start the car again.
This glitch occurred with my '05 four or five times over the past three+ years and self-corrected on the next ignition cycle, but a few members have had the HFL "booting up" permanently until replaced.
When operating, the steering wheel HFL button should generate a prompt or beep.

G/L, and welcome to AZ!

yea, i love to read every single page from this forum. like the other forum i joined, T4R.org (4Runner), here has tons of helpful information to study before going to the dealership.

i've already fixed all rattle noises from center speaker, headliner around the edge of the moonroof, center console trim pieces, driver side vent and both front door trims and so far i am so happy with the quiet ride.

it saved me a lot of time from going back and forth to dealership and only cost me $3.00 for all the fix.

a lot of positive and helpful info from all the readings. my wife knows my daily routine when i surf online now, hidplanet.com, supraforums, t4r, AZ...
so funny when she sees me not on one of those forum while i'm on my desk, she'll ask "did you surf (?) forum today yet?", LOL
