Question HFL Needs to be Rebooted???

I've had my '06 for about 2 weeks and continue to have some issues with the Handsfreelink. 99% of the time it says "booting up". The folks at handsfreelink.com say "The HandsFreeLink system needs to be re-booted by an Acura technician."

I took a stab at this by disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes or so with the + and - cables shorted with a jumper. No change in symptoms.

So, the quick question is, could someone with a service manual look at the HFL section and see if there is such a procedure to reboot the HFL documented??

Many thanks!

Steve

This is an intemittent prob for us, however it has only happened twice over the past 2 years. I took it in and they couldn't identify the prob so it's not a big thing, I guess. I have seen on here that most dealers will swap out a new HFL whenever a problem like this surfaces. If our HFL goes sour again, I will certainly push for measures as such. Goes to show you the wide disparity among dealers and their choice of action(s).

Alas, I'm out of warranty (high mileage) so if the HFL would need replacing, it would run around $600.

MID now displays "booting up" constantly when the detail is selected for the HFL.

The HFL Accura people say "the HFL needs to be rebooted by an Acura service tech". No one here seems to know how to do that. I've had the battery disconnected for about 20 minutes before, with no change in symptoms.

ouch, doesn't it always appear as such when the warranty expires things begin to act up? I've seen little as well to the DIY of the HFL problem. I would say go to the dealer and see how much they will rip you off for a diagnostic/reboot.
