HFL misses on first try

Lately, my HFL doesn't even come close the first time I ask it to call a phonebook number. Always gets it on my second attempt. This didn't use to happen. Anybody got any suggestions. I believe I'm just as clear on my first pronouncement as the second.

i had a problem with this.... it turns out, i would just say the persons name after i hit the button...

it is a lot more accurate if you say "call so and so"

I was going to post the same complaint but I thought it was just me. The first few months that I had the car, it would recognize my voice dial by name nearly 90% on the first try, now it's nearly 0% on the first try and 100% on the 2nd. I have switched phones several times. Started with SE T610, Nokia 6600, and now Blackberry 7100t. I can't imagine that would make a difference.

One tip that I have, when I try to voice dial, I speak in a normal voice vs trying to say it louder. If you program the names with a normal voice, try to dial like that too.

i'm using SE T637 but i thought the phone has anything to do with it. The voice command is stored on the TL and the car is trying to match the voice command. i think the trick is to use a voice command with a good amount of syllables. i ended up using people's full names.

I have the exact same problem. I use the LG 325. Weird.

What's funny is that if the passenger says the number, it's right 100% of the time. I've just become used to it.

I tried something this morning...

Knowing that when the passenger spoke, the HFL gets it on the first try, I tried turning my head a bit to the left when speaking. It has worked four times in a row on the first try.

Not sure why that is, but I least I have a work-araound. I'd like to know if it works for anyone else...

I don't know if it's coincidence, but it did help me to turn my head to the left and speak the command. Since you posted that info, it's missed only once.

Good advice!

Odd, I've had the same problem these last few months too. The HFL used to work very well on the first try but now misses everything the first time, including "redial." VERY annoying!
