HFL Helppp
Just by coincidence I was reading through all of the TSB's last night and downloading them since they are all now available again in pdf format.
Here is a link to a HFL TSB. Sounds like your HFL is locked and needs to be replaced possibly. http://techinfo.honda.com/Rjanisis/pubs/SB/B05-020.PDF Note: This TSB only applies to 2004 TL's with certain VIN numbers. Might not apply to your issue but I don't know your model or VIN.

If it's worth anything, I just bought an '06 w/37Kmi. Luckily I tried pairing my phone before I bought it. Dealer had to fix the BT which ends up costing around $800 at the Acura dealer b/c the part is over $600! Good luck. Hopefully it's only an HFL reset that they have to do.

I went in last year with the TL I bought (an 04 that the TSB applied to) and I had already determined that the problem was with the HFL unit and the lack of a delay box.
After they took half an hour to determine a problem that I already knew about (they looked at me with scorn because I had a copy of the TSB with me...apparently college kids aren't supposed to be intelligent like that), they told me it would run me $980 to get the work done.
Apparently I didn't qualify for a goodwill repair, where they would do it for free, because I had not been a customer of the dealership before. Kinda hard, considering I am not even from this state, and I've never owned an Acura before...
Plus they said that even if it was a factory defect, the fact that the previous owner hadn't done it apparently is my fault. Too bad he was an old man in his 80's that probably doesn't even know what Bluetooth is.
Don't let the dealer screw you. The part alone does cost in the neighborhood of $5-600 bucks, even if you try to install it yourself (which isn't hard). For me I decided to go HFL-less, since I could go buy a new phone and pay for a year of cell phone service for that amount. You may even consider a bluetooth headset if it really does need to be replaced, it's not worth it IMO.

Any ideas why it's not working?
