Exclamation HELP! Need to restore Factory Settings for Navigation

All I did was change the welcome screen picture.

How do you restore the navigation system back to factory defaults?

My driver side power seats is not working and I need to bring it back to the dealership.

My local dealer won't touch it since they considered that I modified it with the new screen.

Thanks!

When going to the dealer go into the setup and press the "load DVD" button, since the regular DVD is in the drive.

After taking it to the dealer, swap and put the CD or DVD you made into the drive, and press "load DVD". Then, put the regular DVD back in.

I'd give it a try before you go to the dealer.

Navi unit breaking the power seats. Since the memory and adjustments are in both navi and non-navi versions, how the heck can they declare that?

They can't. But they might make a note of the altered nav system, and down the road if his GPS breaks he won't be able to get it fixed under warranty.

Missed that. Teach me to skim stuff.

I know that the car stores information on seats, mirrors, and radio presets based on which keyfob unlocks the car. I wonder if that back-channel integration is what the dealership is using as an excuse.

Service Advisor at my dealer thought my splash screen hack was "awesome".

Well I brought it back to my original dealer and they were more than happy to help me out. No questions or issues whatsoever. I've brought it to them for servicing and other past minor checkups and NEVER had a problem. Too bad I don't live closer to them. (Now I remember why I bought my New TL from them and not the ones from the one that I live next to.....they're just so much better with service overall)

I'm hoping that they get it fixed by tomorrow. They offered me a loaner car but I declined for now as long as they get it fixed in one day since I don't use the car for work. I restored everything to defaults.....just to play it safe....oh well....not sure if I'll do it over......was a bit complicated when I did the screen in the past....oh well

My point was that both models do that. That dealer is just being a douche bag.

OP: Glad your original dealer was good about it. Good Luck.

If you still have the CD you did the mods with before, it should be pretty easy to just load it back in.

I know....I just don't know where I put that CD.....arrrgh! :-(

Are there simpler instructions on how to do the welcome screen mod? That's all I want.....the instructions here are a bit confusing....I know I did it somehow....(obviously I got the screen to show up correctly....)

I still have a folder on my computer marked "Navigation" not sure if that's all I need to burn on the CD. (I still have the .bmp file with my desired screen)

I have a white navi disc that originally came with my 2008 when I bought it brand new last April.....

Check your Navigation file and see if the BIN files are there with the BMP. If so, that is probably all you need. I also bought my TL-S in April of last year.

Thanks! I'll give that a try..

UPDATE: Good news is that they found a faulty module in the driver's side seat. Bad news is that they don't have the part and most likely won't get my car back till Friday.

For now they're setting me up with a TSX loaner car...ugh....I've had that before and never liked the TSX...oh well better than not having a car for a couple days I guess...
