You do not have to train the navi. You need to give us more DATA. What are you doing (saying), what screen are you on when you say it ? Are you driving with your windows down?

Regards

ok, im not exactly sure which screen i was on when this happened but its very inconsistant sometime. all the radio commands are working fine, but when it comes to climat control, info-restaurant, directions, etc. that is when the problems occur. i will test today again to see exactly under what situation this happens. And no, the window was never opened, zero noise inside car.

Ok. I am having this same problem. I can't setup the HFL. Car was parked all windows up (in 80 degree temp) with no AC turned on. And I must have said "Phone Setup" 50 times. It gave me the time, turned on the air, changed map views, did everything BUT give meoptions for the phone. I tried saying "system" as well and only got the time.

What could be wrong?

HELPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like you're hitting the nav voice button. You need to hit the button for the HFL on the front of the steering wheel (has a phone icon) to issue HFL commands.

Though I've had good luck with the nav voice commands, I just figured out a trick this week that helps a ton with the speed at which it understands me. Instead of flicking the button and saying the command, I flick the button, wait a moment, and then speak the command. It echos back my command almost immediately. If I don't do this, it sometimes misses the command or it takes a few seconds to figure it out. I suspect it's not really ready to "listen" the instant I hit the button, so it's losing the first snippet of my command and having a tougher time figuring out what it's supposed to do.

Another story: My grandfathers friend had a car that you could tell to start. It wasnt working so he brought it in and they found out he was saying Staaht(with a Boston accent). Problem Solved. I dont know what type of car it was, I havent recently heard of a car with voice activated starting.

Practice, practice, practice... IMHO.

Sooner or later, you will pick up the right tone to say it all...

Yipppeee! I was able to get it to work! But of course, after finally getting the phone paired, I needed to clear it. I purcahsed the car preowned and their were several names inthe phone book. The previous owner had a thick accent. Apparantly, the system worked for him.
