This will all go away if you run the amp off of a remote wire. your system is currently wires to an IGN circuit. so the amp is turning on before the radio does. this will happen with the door closed and the radio off or on with the volume low. if you ise our SVENR it has a trigger that sinces voltage on the speaker wire and then turns the amp on. that is incase your factory radio doesnt have a remote output or amp turn on.

periph.... the stock amp remote cable reads 9 volts......depending on the amp hes using it may not work with it. I never checked it behind the radio but im pretty sure it reads the same voltage.

dont they make suppressors that shut the humming down or that turn the system on from the 9volt lead?

He did say it's a 2008 TL Type S... so it must be what godizus said, the noise cancellation system... so he must disconnect the mic from that ACS...

Good Luck

it's alright tripnbeats... I figured that was the case... but you did provide very helpful information for other AZine members lurking to get an answer for a 3rd Gen TL - NON Type S...

we offer an LVT2 or Low Voltage Trigger. It takes a trigger that is not quite 12V and boosts it up to 12V. Its implemented into our SVENR or is sold separately.
