From what they told me at the dealer, you have to add your contact to the car. It can't grab your contacts from the phone. I think thats really lame, but thats what they told me. You just go through the process of adding contacts through the HFL voice prompts.

thats terrible I guess I could put in my favorites only. No way id go through doing 100 numbers

It takes me so long to even have a call go out when im in my car any way. Seems like the bluetooth interferes with making an outgoing call!

Yeah but do you have navigation? I don't have navigation and I'm not sure if you can do it otherwise

It may depend on which TL you have. If you have a 2004 TL, you cannot import contacts from a mobile phone, regardless of whether you have the Navi. I assume the 2005 and 2006 are the same. I do not know about the more recent years that use the different Navi disc.

Best practice is simply to create HFL phonebook entries for the people you call the most often. You can also create Navi entries for them and then use the "Send" feature to place an outgoing call, but I find the additional steps involved to be more trouble than they're worth.

Hi there sir I do have a 2004 without navigation.

So I guess all i can do is HFL priority contacts. How can I go about doing that can I give the car a command to dial a certain person by voice at that time?

See my latest post in the other thread "iPhone 4 and Acura TL Bluetooth." I listed the process in there. It's also in the owner's manual somewhere shortly after page 149. You create an entry in the HFL phonebook where you assign a name to the phone number. Then in the future when you say that name, in theory it recognizes it and confirms that you want to call that person. My post in the other thread tells you how to do this.

Note that it relies on the name recorded in your voice, so if, say, your wife then tried to call out using the name you recorded, it might not recognize it. I've never actually tested that since I'm the only one who drives my TL.
