Help--HFL Not Working - Talk Button Doesn't Work

I bought a used 06 TL for my son, and we tried to pair his phone, but when we push the talk button, we get no beep, and even if we say, "System" or "Phone Setup" nothing happens.

Is this a sign of a bad HFL that I have been reading about or is this possible wiring issues?

If you go to the MID, select HFL and it shows "Booting Up," the HFL is bad.

Temporary fix is to pull the HFL, disassemble it and bake the IC board in the oven @ 385*F for nine minutes. That works temporarily for a few weeks for most members, and either fixes the HFL permanently or has no effect for the rest.

Other choices are to mail the HFL to Godin Technologies in FL for a $45 fix or buy a new HFL unit for @$200 and install it.

For a more in-depth discussion, see the last half of the posts in: https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-b...-fails-792642/.

If your son decides to drive without the HFL, unplug it so it does not drain the battery when the car is turned off.

Welcome to AZ.

Send it in. Baking it will only work for a week.

I had the "Booting" problem and removed the HFL PCB and sent it to Godin Tech for $45 and now it have been working ever since (3 weeks).
