Has anyone used dash kits from Krankitup?

I own a non navi 2007 TL base, and I have a pioneer double din unit collecting dust from my previous car

I am thinking about replacing the stock unit. So far my only concern is that I will lose blutooth and steering wheel controls.

I've been googling and searching on these forums for install instructions, I wasn't able to find any dash brackets and harness from known brands

I came across http://www.krankitup.com/acura-tl-ki...2005-2006.html

Has anyone used their kits? how reliable are they? Also their prices are a bit steep. I got a dash kit for my previous car (Maxima 2005) for about $50 including the harness and antenna adapter.

**Bump** I'm curious to know this as well. Any luck with these kits? I'm afraid to order because on the website if you click on the ABOUT section, it shows that the kit is backordered and expected back in stock by 11/2013. The fact that the message is still there, has me weary on purchasing.

So I have pulled the trigger on this. I ordered my kit from KrankItUp. I got the package 2 that has everything except the steering wheel controls. I figured since I never use the steering controls now and my new deck has a remote, I don't really need to waste an extra 80 bucks to have it work.

I am planning on doing a tutorial on switching out the deck since I couldn't find one on here... and I will take a lot of pictures.

Wish me luck...

Yea they do, but do not order from website. They won't get the order and it should error out on checkout. Just call them and have them e-mail you a paypal invoice. They are legit, i got my kit today and it looks nice. I have an issue with no audio but i am guessing that my head unit may not like the factory amp. I have another thread started asking for help if anyone knows what might be wrong.

If I can't figure it out, i will probably just loose the amp and factory sub and wire directly to head unit.

Ended up being bad wire connectors and all is well now. System is done and it sounds great with the factory amp and the stock speakers. The factory sub pounds pretty hard now as well! I don't have any distortion either. Only issue with the kit from Krankitup was i had to grind the bottom lip of the trim because my JVC has a thick screen so when you open it, it was getting stuck because there wasn't enough clearance. After i grinded down, it fit like a glove. Here is the finished product...

I'm sure it is possible... But if you were going to do that I would suggest doing an iPad or other Tablet instead of a screen deck... Check out some of the threads on here that have it... They put the Hvac screen on the bottom... Keep factory radio and fully integrated tablet up top...

I took some pretty decent pics of the car taken apart during install... Sounds like u have the non-navi like me so that's how yours will looks torn apart... Check it out it may give you some more ideas...

Yeah that kits been out for awhile just well hidden from majority of the members. Although, it is an outrageous price for a dash kit as any double din that meets the specs of our HU housing fits. How do I know because I bought a universal one from ebay and this other member used one from pioneer. The real issue is the face plate, granted the face plate looks better than the one I made (first timer) I couldn't justify myself on buying a kit well over price when I only spent $15 on the universal one.

Anyway, great job on the install cdguy707
You should do the Tablet next
