Hardwire Micro USB charging cable

Hey All,

I have one of these docks for my galaxy nexus.

I wanted to know if anyone's tried to hardwire (including dc converter) a microUSB cable into the fuse box. I am going to mount the dock just to the left of the steering wheel. In my previous car, I took off the gauge cluster and ran the Cigarette lighter charger (included) but wanted to keep that port open for other potential uses.

Anyone try to wire one up before? I was thinking something like add-a-fuse on power seats > 12V to 5V converter > Micro USB pigtail > Dock.

I opted not to use Fuse #32 because I'm planning on wiring my V1 to that fuse.

This may work for you. It's 3A. Most higher end chargers are 2.1A. I'm no electrician. So, you may want to make sure with someone. This may work for you. It's 3A. Most higher end chargers are 2.1A. I'm no electrician. So, you may want to make sure with someone.
