HandsFree Link Not What I Expected

Has anyone experienced problems with trying to add names or telephone numbers to the phonebook while using the HandsFree Link. Whenever I try to enter a telephone number with the voice command, the system has trouble distinguishing the number. I go back and try it again and again, but still the same problem. It took me thirty minutes to enter one telephone number into the phonebook directory. Needless to say, I'm quite fustrated over this process. Any suggestions on what to do.

P.S. I had no problem pairing my Motorola V600 with the car.

Be patient, you will get used to it very soon. Everybody seems to experience this headache in the very first try. Sooner or later you will find the pattern how to voice your numbers.

Having problems with my V600 phone

Does any body have a fool proof way to make sure that when I press the talk button on steering wheel I do notlose a call?
Only way I know now isto keep my v600 in the open position (flip open) works fine.

I have problems with short names. Couldn't distinquish John and Mom. So I have to use longer names. Numbers seemed better for me. Remember you can enter numbers in parts so it doesn' have to get 10 digits right from the bat. In case you don't know how - say the area code and then stop, it will ask you to say more numbers or enter. Hit the button again and add a few more numbers. Back only erases the last set. You can do this as many times as you like. Only at the end of the number say enter (it took a while for me to learn to say enter so that it didn't thnk I was saying 82).

It just takes practice. The hands free system is different from the navi voice system and is not nearly as accurate. Mine has trouble with the number 8. If you enter numbers make sure you aren't driving, keep the windows closed and don't let anyone talk. Also put the visors down so ther is nothing covering the microphones. ANY noise completely confuses it. Good news is once the number is stored I find it pretty accurate.

I haven't had any trouble entering numbers. I did realize that the system recognizes numbers spoken quickly much better than numbers spoken slowly and deliberately. I find if I give a number at the speed I would leave it on a voice mail message it is surprisingly accurate.

I agree that if you use several short names it has trouble distinguishing them. It seems to work better with longer names.

Johnson Controls recommends the following:

**For Assistance with Voicetag/Phonebook entries:
Suggestion #1: Re-record Voicetag in quiet condition
Rationale: Depending on the environment (road noise, fan/defrost,
traffic...) at the time a Voicetag (i.e. phonebook name) is added, the
quality of the Voicetag is sometimes compromised. The most likely issue
that this customer is experiencing is a distorted Voicetag, which the
system has difficulty recognizing accurately.

1) Delete existing problem Voicetag. If "Angel work" is currently
difficult to reco, I suggest using this method to delete:
- Give the "Phonebook List" command (system begins listing all names in
the phonebook)
- When "Angel work" is heard, press the "pickup" button, and say "Delete"
(System: Would you like to delete "Angel work"?)
- Confirm the deletion

2) In quiet environment, re-enter Voicetag
With car in park, windows up, re-enter the voicetag in the normal manner
("Phonebook store" etc.)

3) Verify that the new voicetag works better

If this does not resolve the problem, then try:

Suggestion #2: Re-record Modified Voicetag in quiet condition
Rationale: Occasionally, even with a quiet voicetag, the system may have
trouble with recognition. This issue most often occurs with very short
Voicetags (e.g. Bill, Ann), but may occur with a longer tag. In this case,
a slight modification to the original voicetag will usually resolve the
recognition problem.

1) Delete existing problem Voicetag (as described above)

2) In quiet environment, re-enter Voicetag with changes. Suggestions:
"Angel <+ lastname> work"
"Angel at work"
"Angel at office"
"Angel at <name of workplace>"

3) Verify that the new voicetag works better
