Hands Free Link quality

Does anyone know of the sound quality when using the Hands Free Link varies by the type or brand of cell phone you are using? I have had a few people tell me that it sounds like I am talking in a tunnel or through a can (from the other end of the conversation). I am wondering if this will improve or change once I upgrade my cell phone someday.

I currently have a Sony Ericsson T616. I would like to buy the new Motorola Slvr when it comes out later this year.

Thanks!

Hmm. Same SE T616 phone for me and nobody has said anything. I asked a few folks how I sounded early on when I talked with them and they said I sounded fine. They knew I was on a cell speaker phone so perhaps they were more forgiving. I don't ever expect a speaker phone in a car to sound great but people aren't complaining. I guess if your are calling clients it may be a concern but all my calls are non-business so tough luck for them if they don't like being on the speaker.

Different phone: Audiovox PPC-6600 (AKA Harrier).

People did not notice that I was talking to them with the use of the HFL.

They mentioned that it sounded as good as the cellphone direct.

The two people that made comments were over 60 years old so maybe I will just chalk it up to bad hearing. Thanks!

Tell them to crank their hearing aid up then scream in the phone

I had a Moto 850 for a couple of weeks, and everyone I talked to said I sounded like I was in a wind tunnel. I tried turning the climate control off, didn't help any. I couldn't determine if the phone was causing the problem or the HFL, but I returned the phone since the only reason I bought it was for HFL. I'll stick with my wired ear piece.
