Hands Free Link help
I bought a TL Type-S on Friday, January 26th, and haven't been able to pair my Motorola V3m. When I say "phone setup" the car either goes to nav setup or does nothing. Is there a way to diagnose if the bluetooth is working or if I need to take it back to the dealership?

Now Im still new to the 3rd gen but I'll "try" to help out. BTW I have a '04 so it might or might not be different.
ok 1st theres two sets of voice command buttons (one for general car commands and the other for your phone) make sure you're using the right set
2nd I think I remember saying just "SETUP" and it replying "Phone setup options are..."
then you say "pair" (have your phone ready to search for bluetooth) then I think it says enter (say) the pin # which is the 4 digit # you use to pair with your bluetooth headset (if you dont know it, it should be in your phone manual. Mine was 0000 I also have a razr) then if I remember right after that it'll say "searching for phones" (also have your phone searching) once its done save the phone (in car and on phone) name it and you're done! hopefully I covered everything (CORRECTLY).
If not I wrote down exactly what I did when I paired mine, but its in the car when I go out I'll bring it in and if I missed something I'll edit this.
but hopefully this can get you up and running GOOD LUCK!

Hmmm, doesn't sound like it's even getting to the part where you initiate pairing. I ran out to the garage and tried, she repeats 'phone setup' after I say it. I thought that maybe you were hitting the navi voice button instead of the HFL voice button so I tried that. 1st time she said 'display traffic'. A second attempt she said 'fan speed hi' and froze me out. Apparently 'phone setup' is not a command for the navi system so she guesses something to do.
Stupid question so forgive me if you aren't, are you hitting the navi button on the steering wheel instead of the HFL button?
