Hands Free

I just got the Droid X yesterday and was trying to Pair it to my '04TL. I printed out the directions but now the display behind the wheel is stuck, it says Pair and the 4 digit number I said to it. I hit both both buttons on the steering wheel, nothing happens. The display on the radio says Phone and I can't get out of the that either. Everything seems to be locked up. Any suggestions?

Remove the negative battery terminal and reconnect it within a couple of seconds. This will reset the HFL but will retain all your other settings (trip computer etc). I have the same issue pairing my BB8900 and from all the research i have done it seems the HFL unit needs replacement. But its pricy!!

Oops, I removed the positive cable. I was more concerned about losing my XM code and then trying to figure out how to re-enter it but it was still there, just had to reset my channels back up.

Anyway, after resetting the system I kept trying to Pair the phone and at one point the message on the phone said "paired but not connected" so I got further than I did the first time then the HFL jammed again so I can't release it and no radio again. Here we go again under the hood, sheeze.

i paired my instantly and it works great. The only thing i'm not sure about is using the hfl button on the steering wheel to activate the call waiting function.
go into pairing mode in the car and then say your four digit code.
go to settings on the phone
go to wireless and networks
turn on bluettoth
go into bluetooth settings
hiturn on discoverable mode then hit "scan for devices"
after about 5 seconds you should see "handsfreelink TM" appear in the list at the bottom
hit that and then enter your 4 digit code and you should be good to go.
Mine works perfectly every time....

I've tried a least 4 times, no luck. Can you tell me exactly what you're doing step by step?
