GPS Unit - Grey Connector Won't Release

I have a 2004 TL and my Nav unit started having problems a month ago. Long story short, I'll need to send it to Alpine for repair. I've successfully removed the trunk linker, unscrewed the unit and removed the green and black connectors. The small gray connector does not want to release from the unit. It moves slightly when I depress the tab but that's it. I've used a pair of pliers to put a fair amount of pressure on both sides of the conector but no luck in getting it to release from the unit. Any one else had problems with this small connector and or have any possible suggestions?
