viper/clifford = dei = same company. the tilt sensor you buy separate so go with whatever viper/clifford which has the features you want and add the dei tilt sensor to it. just my .02cent.

Viper/clifford/python are all the same, made by DEI. They each have identical models, only difference is name/model #.

I'm not that familiar with alarm only systems...

The Viper 5901/Clifford 50.7X/Python 9?? are all the same, are full featured remote start/alarms and seem to be among the most popular DEI models.

Other quality brands not made by DEI are AstroStart and Compustar.

If you want to DIY, there is a DEI DIY thread on this forum for the DEI models I listed above. I have the clifford 50.7X with added tilt and glass break sensors. Instructions on how to add these are included in that thread. In addition, I've wired the clifford to turn on my rear defog.

Plenty of good products out there. You just need to determine your price point and desired features.

Price, Im looking for between 300-400 range installed. I shall look up on the models you mentioned. Thanks for the advice.

alarm system are very easy to break into. all you have to do is cut the power source to the battery. (had it happened to me) If you want to install a alarm make sure to get a backup battery and make sure it is very well hidden. good luck
