Garmin street pilot c330

The wife gave me one of these bad boys for x-mas. This thing is awesome! Now I’m not saying it's better than the factory nav system because i don't have one to compare it to and truth be told I’d rather have the factory unit. But, it's better having this unit than nothing at all. Now I know why everyone loves his or her nav systems.

Pros: 1. You can take it any where out side the car (holds a 2 hour charge) 2. Easy to update software (via usb connection) 3. Detour feature 4. Small enough to put in your pocket and takes up very little space 5. TFT screen 6. Boots up in seconds 7. Very accurate info. (Scary sometimes) 8. Great suction cup holder makes it easy to connect and remove from holder 9. Member "zeuser" says nav wise it's better than the tl (link to tread) good write up by the way. 10. Sd card slot expansion for additional maps (US, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are preloaded on the built in hard drive) 11. Very easy interface 12. Great touch screen 13. No subcriptions 14. No 1 hour orientation at the dealer, instructions are on one page!

Cons: 1. Wire hanging down (will work on that) 2. Begs to be placed right where the factory unit is located (I did find a nice spot for it) 3. Not factory 4. Can’t give the tl voice commands (I love that about the TL) 5. Can be stolen easily.

Anyway, if you bought your TL without nav check this one out if your going after market.

Good stuff, I don't know how they put all that info in such a small box.

I agree with everything you said. I had a TomTom Go that was very similar to yours. My only issue was the small screen. I had the Laptop based Garmin as well, and I loved the screen size. Obviously the laptop is a pain to carry around. I'm surprised you can see/reach the Garmin where you put it. Good luck with the new toy.

I have looked at those. A couple of questions.

1. Does the unit receive the sat signals where you have it mounted ?
2. Where did you find the "nice spot" for it. Visor clip ? Included ?
3. External antenna ?

Thank you !

Yes.

Mounted on the windshield next to the rear view mirror. It comes with a windshield suction base and a plastic mounting disk that you can stick anywhere and attach the suction base to it.

3. External antenna?

No antenna needed where it's mounted, it has a reception display like a cell phone and all the bars are on. You can get an optional antenna for it if your reception is bad.

jjh1234, I can reach it with no problem. Those with alligator arms might have issues.

I mount mine on the lower right where the radio/heater info is on the non nav. Attaches easily with the suction cup mount and maintains the signal without problem.

Got one Garmin C330 on 12-31-05. Love it. Of course not as good as the TL navi but it works for me.

I did the same thing. Was concerned about the signal but it works fine.
