Free: Nav hack disc for v3.40c (05 TL)

I know this probably should go in the Nav section but I figured everyone in there already knew how to do this or had it done. This is for the new guys.

Although this is a simple process, I thought I'd help someone save a bit of time.

I changed my Nav boot up screen to this image: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=159 props to Dave96

Also, the OK button hack and the trip computer/AC hack has been done. The OK screen now shows a message from AngryDad but doesn't require you to hit the OK button.

Since I'm done with this disc and it worked for me, does anyone want it?

Title says FREE. Someone already inquired about it BUT this is what I thought of. The files required to burn onto a CD-R aren't very big. I can just email them to you!

File size - 13.1MB

I'd like it if nobody has grabbed it yet. I think I could utilize this version since I have an 04. Now that I posted, I will go back and search to make sure.

so if you have the files, cant you email it to everyone that wants a copy?

edit: unless that is what you are doing now, reading the other posts leads me to believe you are just sending off the disc you have

^ Precisely. Since a CD doesn't fit in a normal envelope, this works better.

I'm pretty sure I can send these as attachments thru Gmail.

Leave your emails here and I'll send the files out.

Or I could email them to someone and they can upload them for us.

Ah I thought you were sending out the disc. OK...so as far as the upload, I just upload it, burn it, and voila! Or is there more involved? I was looking at the sticky and am thinking this is just an upload and burn process at this point...please correct me if I am wrong.

Download the 2 BIN files, burn onto a CD-R, then follow the instructions on the sticky.... or

How to load my custom bin back into the car?
1. Burn your custom bin (BNHH401a.BIN) and the loader (BN2HHMLD.BIN) onto a blank CD.
2. Go to your car.
3. Turn your car's ignition to ACC
4. Open the trunk and pop out the NAVI disk (if it's in there)
5. Insert your newly burned CD.
6. Go back to the driver seat, the display will show some dvd read error, now press and hold "GUIDE" "MENU" and "CANCEL" for approx 5 seconds to bring up the diagnostic menu.
7. Wait another 5 seconds to let it load up completely. Press "version" button on the screen
8. Press "LOAD DISC" to load your custom bin into the navigation.
9. Wait until it's completely done and it will then display another error message about can't read the navi dvd, now take out your bin CD and insert your Navigation disc and you are done!
Others: once I attach the files, I will send them out.

If I understand correctly as long as it is the orange disc it is compatible. There are different versions of the orange disc but as long as it is orange it should be good to go based on what I read.

I think your disc is white... not sure. Read thru the sticky.

Hey I'm not sure its going to work for you. I just noticed you have a TL-S. Your nav disc is probably white and won't work with the stuff I used.

Your best bet is to go thru the sticky and do it for your nav disc version.

Sorry

Bump - gotta grab when I get home.

I'm going to search now, but can someone explain what these hacks are for me? I know it's the AC hack, but what exactly is the AC hack, and trip comp, etc.

Thanks in advance if I do not find it by searching first.

Great upload by the way. Can't figure out why nobody did this a while ago.

^ Trip computer hack is basically a GUI for the trip computer. I used it on my way to work this morning and its neat. The MPG bar is... eh... in increments of 5MPG so its not THAT useful. Just something else to look at when you're driving.

AC hack is a GUI for the AC controls (on/off, fan speed, mode <- doesn't work for me).

Get the files from post#14 or #16.

Joe, the files I posted WILL NOT work with your nav since you have an 08 TL-S.

Based on this link (https://store.alpine-usa.com/Acuradv.../naviorder.php), your car has a white nav DVD. The hack in this thread is for orange (older) nav DVDs.

Try posting in the Nav forum and someone will help you out for sure.
