Floor well LED light question.

I just installed 4 LED floor lights and I grounded the negative to the car and tried to put the positive in a couple of diff interior fuses, but every fuse stays on when I put it in, even when the car is off? I want them to be on when the headlights are on. trying to keep it simple, everything is lined up and would like to just put it in a fuse spot.....thx

What year is your TL? I believe 04-06 has a different fuse box than 07-08.

To get it to come on with your headlights, the best spot is going to be to wire it in parallel to either the glove box light or the console box light.

The red/blk wire on those is the + and the blk wire is the ground.

If you put your LED with the anode tied to the red/blk wire, a suitable resistor soldered to the cathode and the other end of the resistor soldered to the black wire off one of those lights it'll have the effect that you're looking for.

You could just tap them into the little foot well bulb thats already there. They will go on with headlights. And also when you lock and relock doors. And no fuses or anything needed.

The glove box and center console light are both behind the white opaque plastic cover. Your bulb may be shot, hence you don't have a light. It's actually a #74 bulb so if you're so inclined, you can create a #74 pigtail to plug in. (or just tap it in using vampire splices or T-taps.)

Turn on your headlights. Look under and you should see a small blue light. Theres one on each side. Its built into the plastic piece. Easier at night ofcourse this light is so weak no1 knows its there. I basically just cut the wire to that bulb and connected it to my led strip.

LOL, if you plug it into fuse #32 it will turn on everytime you turn your car on.

Tap it to the parking light wire or any red/black wire behind the dash (as someone said earlier).
You could tap it into the stock footwell lighting too.

what kind of LEDs are you all installing>? I am looking for something as well, but I don't want it to be bright, I sat in my friend's lexus gs430 and the lighting is perfect, it's just bright enough to see the shoes if you look down, but not bright enough to blind when you look down

I think mine are perfect to me.... I bought them on amazon for $15, came as two 24 in strips, then I cut ea one in half, so now I have 4 12 inch ones.... really makes it look classy, not to bright and not to dull. but other ppl might have their own opinions.

^ that doesn't look too bright at all actually. I have seen some where the foot well lighting is brighter than anything else in the car, I think it just looks stupid that way.
Are they just any regular 24" LEDs in white 12V ?

yes, just your basic 24 inch strip, I cut them and made for two in the front and 2 in the rear. Its perfect for me, plus my interior is black so I didn't want them to be so bright while Im driving, just an accent. plus the wife and kids love them.
