Factory sub

was just getting a feel if anyone has replaced the subwoofer in the 08 tl with a 12 instead of a 8 or 10?

i've seen guys who did both the 8 and 10 but no one has done the 12.

just trying to get a feel before i start hacking my car up!!

Can I ask why?

Putting a larger speaker in free-air on a thin sheet of metal isn't exactly the best option for..well...anything. If you're looking to be different and/or save space, look into IB (infinite baffle)

I agree with Trunk Monkey...definitely stay away from using the stock sub location of any sub other than an IB setup. I put an 8" Rockford P2 in the stock sub location and it was nothing but rattle and horrible bass. I ended up getting 2 12" Type R Alpines instead and building my own sealed box, put it against the backseat firing into the ski pass and i couldn't be happier. And by making my own sealed box i didn't lose that much space.
