Factory radio keeps going anti theft mode
I have a 04 TL and the screen below the ac screen is broken.. i bought the car this way and the dealer said they would replace it. But i typed in the code and the radio started to work, then after about 10 minuets of listening the radio went back into anti theft mode.. so i have to keep typing in the code for the radio to stay on. Any ideas? the radio is factory. thanks

more info needed. does the radio cut off after ten min? does it have any static sound like a wiring short before it cuts off?
Obviously they prompt for a code when power is lost so that's where I would start. look for loose connection in the wiring make sure the fuse is seated good and the correct amperage. has anyone added any type of accessory to the radio? I have seen cars do really strange stuff when the battery is at end of life checked it?. A very large drop in voltage in the alternator "may" could make just about anything happen. do any lights go dim on you any at all?
none of that probably will help if its an internal short in the radio but that's where I would start. Actually i would start with the dlr that is replacing the screen if he is replacing the screen he may change the radio out if you ask or beg really nicely

really sounds like a power problem or a short in the radio. i would hit the dlr up that's replacing the screen that would be the easiest fix. if he doesn't budge try to locate a used one cheap and ask him to put it in since he sold you faulty radio
