factory navi install

factory navi install
Just noticed tonight driving home on the highway I noticed my cruise control does not work. Im the crazy guy that had my whole car gutted to have factory navi installed. I have a feeling the problem is when the installer had to cut the wheel speed sensor wires from the non navi harness because he did not want to spend the time to jack the car up and take off the rr wheel to access the sensor plug. He clipped and soldered the wires from the factory navi harness to the wires from the existing wires. My question is that if he wired these sensor wires reversed could that be the problem with the cruise control? The cruise turns on and I see the cruise light up on the dash but it does not hold a setting at speed.

Im not sure even if these spliced wires are the problem. Maybe my cruise control went bad somehow and I will take it to the dealer. I will also do a search to see if anyone has had problems with the cruise control.

Non Navi Acura TL 2005
Is the car prewired for the Navi option or will I need to wire it? What's the cost for the installation? I have the Nav unit. Also, where can I get manuals (wiring manuals) for the navi system? I'm getting my car tomorrow. Can't wait.
Thanks, Kris

After my post I read many posts with a lot of good info about Navi and noticed many post to search before questioning. Sorry for being another nuisance on this board. Prior to this I owned a Honda Accord and found the boards to be of great help.
Just wondering what the little square antenna is on the back of the roof right above rear window. I suppose it is for XM radio. From years of work with GPS installations on aircraft I assume it is for the sattelite.
ANyhow see you around, Kris

Welcome! What year was your Honda? Many of us came from Accords to the TL. I had a 96 Accord EX, myself.
You are correct, that is the XM antenna. The GPS receiver for those with the factory navi is located inside the car, on the rear deck, near the right rear speaker.

I had a 2001 Accord Coupe V6 which carried me 160,000 miles in 4 years. It performed beautifully. I had a stupid accident this March and lost the car. A guy clipped my left rear causing me to spin out and hit the median @ 75mph. Not much you could do at that moment. So now I got a TL.
I'll need some good manuals for it.
Thanks, Kris

This is the place to buy your manuals. I bought the Electrical troubleshooting and the Factory Navi Manual when I did the Navi install.
