Factory EQ Settings: Solutions???

Greetings everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has had success with an aftermarket pre-amp EQ with the ELS system? I have added aftermarket amps/speakers, but I find the factory eq settings to really be hurting my overall sound. I get good highs and great bass from my sub, but my mid-bass and mid range is totally flat.

I was looking at the following: AudioControl DQL-8, AudioControl DQX or the AudioControl EQS.

If anyone has any other experience with an eq, please share..

Thanks

A few people run EQ's on here, the favorite is probably the 3.sixty.2 which needs to be tuned by hand. However there are self tuning systems like the Alpine system. I've heard some good things about the MTX one...

yeah, I looked at that, however, I ended up going with an Audiocontrol LC8 initially, it gave me a super clean signal AND I had no problems with my HFL and Navi voice. I just realized I needed to eq the signal post factory amp because my ear tells me the midrange and midbass is flat. So, with the success of signal with the LC8, I think I am leaning towards an audiocontrol piece for the eq as well, one EQ is digital, one is analog, or Crutchfield will actually let me swap the LC8 for the DQL 8, which provides the loc functions AND digital EQ AND x-over. for about $400 more of course. Im leaning towards the swap because it will be one less piece of equipment to install, etc.
