Thumbs up Excellent Product

Anyone who is looking for a quality cell phone or PDA holder for their car should visit www.proclipusa.com, I have bought one for my 2004 TL a month ago and I love it.

I have a Blackberry (bluetooth of course) and have mounted it to the right of the center console, in front of the parking brake, below the stereo. Basically up and left of where the passenger"s left knee would be.

I didn't have to damage my car, no drilling. The mount clips in between the trim and a piece of double sided tape on the mount holds it in place. It's very secure.

I had a choice of 2 locations to mount. All sorts of combinations for multiple devices or large ones. The site has pictures of the mounts in place in the car.

My Blackberry mount also pivots so I can check my emails as I'm driving without taking it out of the holder.

It took me literally 10 minutes to install with two screwdrivers.

Cost me $60.00 and arrived DHL Ground in 3 days. (my wife's came in 2 days) from Wisconsin.

If your like me you don't like putting second rate gadgets in your car and hate to drill holes in your interior.

Check it out!

It totally blocks an entire AC vent. Would never buy it.

Moreover, I don't see the point of being able to see your bluetooth enabled phone when both incoming and outgoing numbers are clearly displayed on the MID and everything is voice controlled. I'd rather place my phone inside the center console, out of sight, where it can be left charging and doesn't block my vent.

I would be interested in this myself because sometimes I don't recognize the incoming numbers themselves, but my phone's display says "Matt Cell" or something to help me.

The reason I won't get it is that I have Cingular and down here, all Cingular phones operate on a frequency that causes radio/electronic noise on any speaker including car stereos. It's annoying as anything. It will happen if my phone is laying next to my PC speakers as well, so it's not the car's problem.
anyone else get that?

Anyway, I have to keep my phone a good distance from the head unit to not have that noise, so my phone stays in my pocket or goes under the center arm rest.

Maybe there is 1 or 2 people out there who would like to view their phone/smart phone/pda. Ever hear of email, need to scroll through addresses or through your phone book. Use your key pad in an automated system? Need I go on? So it is convenient to be able to view the screen, can't see through the center console or can you?

Also if you use it for business it is a great help when navigating a company's automated voice system. Lets face it doing everything by voice takes to long because the cars voice commands can't respond fast enough. That is just a fact. Been there done that.
If you have ever lost your bluetooth link during a call its a bitch to scramble for the hand set. Guess that only happens to me though, right?

Also I will say on the 04 TL's and newer the mount near the air vent blocks it about 1/4 not totally. I opted for the other mount by the parking brake.

Look it's a good product and does what it says it will do. I'm just a satified customer sharing some information I thought would be helpful. I've bought other brands and this works the best for me. I could care less if you buy it.

What I wasn't expecting was such negative responses from some people. Everyone here is supposed to be helping each other out.

Grow up!

Do you really need to do all this while driving??? I have a P910, I do everything including email, browsing and messaging using it. I have never had the need to read my email while driving, nor send a text message or browse the net while cruising on the freeway.

The handsfree units were designed so people wouldn't actually use their phone while driving. It was designed to be a safety feature and an added convenience. The whole purpose of a handsfree is lost if you end up having to operate your phone manually. BTW, I've never lost a bluetooth connection during a call, not in my TL and not on my Jabra. The only time this has happened was when the battery in my Jabra died. So the call dropped, big deal. Call back later....or something. Sorry, but I'm not an advocate of multitasking while driving (at least not tasks that involve looking away from the road for a prolonged period). The navigation screen itself can be distracting enough but thankfully there are voice prompts.

Also I will say on the 04 TL's and newer the mount near the air vent blocks it about 1/4 not totally. I opted for the other mount by the parking brake.
I'm glad you're finding the product useful. I wasn't being negative, sorry if i sounded like it. I was just stating the reasons why I wouldn't buy such a product. If you find the product useful, that's cool. Thanks for sharing it. No hard feelings.

Great product! Much better than the installed versions (Pro-Fit and Panavise)

Here is another great review with photos for the Treo users -> https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118408
