ELS sound system/rattle
Im currently thinking about getting a 07 Type-s, I owned an 04 tl 6-speed. One thing I remember about the sound system was that if you had the sub turned up just a little and the volume somewhat high, the rear deck/shelf wound rattle like crazy!!! Now since the sound system is still the same for 07 (think its the same watts, not sure how many) does it still rattle or have they fixed the problem…

My 07 rattles, just like everyone promised it would, but Gillman in Houston is going to take care of it for me on Monday.
If you think you'll have problems getting them to fix it after you purchase, demonstrate the rattling to your salesguy and have him commit to fixing it before you even sign.

..... or you could disconnect that factory sub and throw a nice amp and box in the trunk.....then after you dynamat everything from the backseat and behind, it will sound better than you could ever imagine! (that's what I did at least)

Guess that will be my project, im leasing but rather DIY, cause they are just gonna scratch everything up, SOO if u dynamat the shelf the rattle will disappear.

SOO, how bad is the rattling after u fix the rear deck/shelf with dynamat….i mean, listening to hip hop lets say volume 50-60% up with sub/bass/treble slightly increased. If deck/shelf doesn’t rattle anymore, do u still have a rattle coming from the doors….That’s what drove me crazy w/ the 04 TL, doors didn’t rattle that much cause I couldn’t really turn up the volume because of the back rattling sooooo much with minimal bass !!!!! Sorry for being a pain but currently I have a 06 IS 350 fully loaded except ML, I think the stock head of nonML’s is a pioneer, kinda forget total watts, but I can turn the volume up to 75-80% w/ minimal to no distortion and basically NO rattles, good loud bass and sound wise very loud. Louder than the TL. Wish I could keep the car but if winter is bad this year prob have to trade in for a FWD….

i don't have any more rattle whatsoever... except fot the factory sub kinda sits there and moves when the real bass pounds... if the volume isn't loud enough, you can hear it a little. overall i'm happy with the $150 i spent on parts/labor to dynamat all of that crap up!

A J35A8 EG civic is in
My 07 TL shelf used to rattle alottttt because of my system, but then I just took off the trunk liner and there was a little hole where I put a peice of cardboard, like it said in one of the rattle fix threads. Now it doesnt rattle. It was literally a 5 minute fix, or even less.
