Dynamat? Factory System
Hey Guys ...
I have a bunch of Dynamat ... about 10 sq ft ... left over from a friends stereo install ... I am not really looking to upgrade the system on my TL as I like it as it is ...
I was wondering... do you think installing the Dynamat in the doors and rear-deck lid would help produce better acoustics?
If so ... where do you think the best places would be?
Thanks ...

10 sq feet isnt much... That is about 1-2 doors.. It took 70sq feet to do a saturn's Doors, roof, and rear deck...
I used about 5 sq feet a door. It sucked finding the holes that were required to mount the door after I covered them up.
The Dynamat Extreme is the only stuff I would use... No heating very sticky.. But it can cause a very nasty mess if you are not careful. It was hard to squeeze it behind the door panels (mind you, in a Saturn).
I didn’t like road noise, so I though the biggest difference was the roof. I wasn’t really after music, although that was my justification...

I have dynamatted my TL on the rear deck, front doors and under the rear seat. It was a noticeable difference but it really needs it on the front floorboard. I can still hear some road noise. You will notice a difference on the front doors.
