DVD-A, where to get them and what?

Ok, in a year of looking around I haven't been able to find any good DVD-A discs. Take that back, I found 1 Foo Fighters album.

Where's a good place to go to order them from? are there any good albums out besides classical and jazz music?

the Best Buy near me had all classical, some people I never heard of, Foo Fighters (which I bought) and britney spears, what the hell is that about.

DVD-A looks to be about dead. Look for Dual Disc titles that do not display the NTSC logo (i.e., The Talking Heads Brick).

I found a website that I can make my own dvd-audio it's called cirlinca.com and you can make up to 5 dvds on a demo. You just have to make your cds a aiff or a wav file and it will burn DVD-R's to DVD-Audio. Let me know if you have any questions. I've made 4 dvd-audios so far and they sound better than cd's. They hold about 50 songs as a wave file.

Not necessarily true, DualDiscs can still have video along with DVD-A, for example, Diana Krall's "The Girl In The Other Room" is a DualDisc with DVD-A and the NTSC logo is displayed on the back. DualDiscs by Sony/BMG and its afilliate labels are using DVD-V on the flip side and using SACD as their hi-rez format.

If it doesn't work in the TL, it's not DVD-A and probably is DD 5.1 surround. When purchasing DualDiscs, you have to look very carefully on the back cover (yes, it's small). Look at the DVD Logo, at the bottom, it will either say VIDEO or AUDIO or sometimes both. Rob Thomas' "....Something To Be" has both. DualDisc by NIN "The Downward Spiral" explicitly says ...play on DVD-Audio players. Another phrase to look for is "Advanced Resoulution surround Sound.

The problem with DualDiscs is there is no standard regarding the content information. The original concept was to use a hi-rez format (DVD-A) on the flipside and the normal 2 channel stereo on the other. But thanks to Sony because they wanted a piece of the pie decided to opt for DVD-Video instead and keep SACD as their hi-rez format.
