DVD Video/Nav question.
Ok, so when I purchased my TL, it has an Icon-TV DVD-100 DVD player in the rear armrest. After fiddling with it for quite awhile due to not having sound, I figured out and found the FM station it needed to be set to so that I can hear what’s playing.
Now my question is which I think will be obvious, should I go with one of those RCA connection kits like dom's tvandgo? Since the signal to the radio gets interfered with a lot so I can't continuously listen to the video and the quality of the video itself looks horrible on the screen unless that's the best it can do? Or will my decision to go with a module like dom's improve the video quality? (Because it looks like I'm trying to watch antenna TV in the middle of a storm, exaggerating but you get me)
edit: I should say Satellite TV.
p.s. I'm an audiophile newblet, so be gentle.

For audio, i highly recommend the USA SPEC HON2Y, I have it and the sound is awesome. THe benefit of it is that you can hook up an ipod and control it thought the steering wheel too.
As for video, i am not sure about quality, can you post a picture of the quality? If the shop that did the install just cut into the navi wires using sme ghetto converter, then you may have somewhat of a bad picture, but i have dom's converter and it is fantastic.

Welcome aboard Ale_lock. Have you checked out the 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ? There is a section on there listing/explaining all the parts required for a DVD install as well as a section on comparing audio modules.
I would definitely recommend a hardwired audio solution (USA Spec, PIE, Blitzsafe) over FM transmission. I am not sure how you are connecting video to the navi screen. Most members use the TVandNav2Go or the more feature rich AV Electronics module. Do you have any ideas on how your DVD player is connected?

Hey. I have no idea how the DVD-player is connected, I bought the car with it already installed. I definitely am considering ripping out the player and getting a hardwired install because the FM transmission gets a lot of interference and I’m not sure if that contributes to the video quality or if they just did a horrible job. I'll definitely look into the hardwired audio solutions, and was already considering TVandNav2Go with the PNP plug, any decent players to reccomend?
