Hey Everybody,
I just received from Acura for $185 dollars, You can get an updated version DVD For the Nav? This is for my region Cal and Nevada. Has anyone else received this and is this worth it? Seems like alot of $$$.

I don't quite understand your question. Are you saying Acura sent you a free DVD upgrade? Or are they offering you the upgrade at $185? Because the upgade is $185 for our navi.

I'm gonna hold off on the new 3.6 version and wait for the next one.

$185 is cheap for Navi upgrades. Compare to the Euro rides and you're looking at prices between $300-$500 for upgrades. I can't say that $185 is a bargain because I think it's a lot of money for an upgrade, but when you compare to the competition it's a bargain.

It seems like Kammwdp received a letter in the mail offering him an upgrade nav DVD and is wondering if it's worth it.

Here is a thread that discusses the most recent update (version 3.60 for '04-'06): Nav Update Disc Almost Out!

I have heard some dealerships will include the updated DVD when you purchase the car, but this may require bargaining on your end.

Thanks Datmrman, You are correct, I was just wondering if I really needed this update and if $185 dollars sounded right? Seeing that the Acura dealer is always finding a way to get more money out of us..

If you have an 05 or 06 I wouldn't bother. I have an 04 and I'm waiting till next year to get mine. I'd hate to buy this year and be disappointed in the upgrades.

Agreed. Not enough changes and too expensive to upgrade every year. I waited until my disc was two revs behind before upgrading.

I was amazed that Chevy sent me an upgraded Navi DVD for my ’06 Trailblazer…free…..I couldn’t believe it. Why doesn’t Acura do that?

Chevy is working hard to stay in business. Honda/Acura has no such issue.

The Navi disc postcard/letter sent by Acura has a list of the cities in California that have substantial changes and mentions updated parking entrance/exit info for SoCal-area stadiums/arenas.
If you live near or go to Merced, CA this version is for you....

update??

I purchased my car in July of 05. I also got a mailing from Acura and it does sound like there are significant upgrades. How often are these things upgraded?
