DVD/TV Nav conversion

I have seached around but haven't seemed to find out much about these. I have a few questions. Where can I get one that will play DVDs as well as TV? Will this void my warrenty? How can i get it installed. (No way in heck i would try to do it myself.) The reason that I want to change it is I will be moving overseas and would not be able to use the NAV anymore. Any help would be apreaciated especially website links or pics of some people have installed.

Look in black market group buys. You will get all the information you are asking for.

Good luck!

wait you bought a navi and now are going overseas and want a dvd conversion....???

Is that right?

IF so then you can just get the AVelectronic converter (plug and play kinda) or the Solokov's kit which is what I got and there are a ton of threads on here. Do a search for dvd conversion.

You will find everything you need. Read through the posts that should help.

Where are you going overseas? Maybe you could load one of the (if they have them) nav discs for Europe for example? Lots or Euro cars have nav systems even cars that I'd consider lower end like Renault, Peugot, etc. I take my TomTom go to use just in case I rent something that doesn't have a system. I could have sworn I saw a Honda Accord (our TSX) with nav the last time I was in Germany a few weeks ago.

I just looked on the German Honda website. Since most of you can't probably read German I am posting a link where you can at least see the nav system in the car.

http://www.honda.de/content/car/15113_19498.html

Be thankful you don't have to pay the Euro price for nav! It is 2,500 Euro which puts it well over $3,000 US.

What is the point in the AVelectrinics unit dont froget its not really plug and play and it still requires an install so for those still taking the unit to a shop for installation are wasting 250 dollars save that money and buy a pioneer dvd changer also dont froget Sokolov's unit is much better picture and quality. To bad you are not in NYC otherwise you could have gotten the unit installed with the dvd changer for the same price youre getting the parts from AVelectronics.

ok with the sokolovs unit you could add a 30 adapter and have 5 different sources to connect so now youre still at over 200 saved and better quality.

Really do you have a website for that so I can take a look at it. That still leaves the warrenty question but all this will come probably last on the list of things to add.

xkactetx, for the sokolov unit adapter for multiple sources, could you point me to a website that sells that adapter? Also, I want to display the output to the Nav screen as well as two LCDs on my headrests. Is there a way to do that with the sokolov unit? Please let me know. Thanks!

You could see my unit at http://public.fotki.com/vsokolov/conversion_module/ it has been a little bit upgraded the new model comes in silver casing with my companies logo on it. If you look at the picture notice the phillips chips and no relay's also metal casing to prevent engine noise. You can buy the icon tv dvd and use the extra outputs on the dvd player to add extra video sources. If you're intrested just email me at vsokolov@hotmail.com or call 718-909-2192. Thank You

Thanks vsokolov,

I'm definitely going to be buying a unit from you, but I will be using a PS/2 as a DVD player/console/MP3 player, etc... so I need a way to have multiple AV sources (switched) and multiple display outputs (1 navi screen, 2 headrest LCDs)... any suggestions?
