DVD Audio Selection

Is there a website that has an up-to-date list of what's available on DVD audio? The selection at Best Buy was pretty limited.

Noob question. What are DVD-A in detail. And what do you use them for. Are they the only DVDs you can play on your navi screen without modifying it? Thanks in advance for the help.

DVD-A is DVD-Audio. No video. It will play 5.1ch surround sound on a DVD player, and in the TL.

I'm researching what there is available right now, and what I need to do to make my own.

Also, I believe DualDisc versions of albums will also play, as long as they aren't made by Sony or any subsidary thereof (RCA, etc).

Guys, the best sites I've found (I have about 90 DVD Audio discs) are:

-http://www.5point1.com/index2.html (5.1 Sound)
-http://store.acousticsounds.com/category.cfm?section=dvd&ID=6&keywords=g_dvd_audio (Acoustic Sounds-this is the best site)
-http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/category2/1028/a/DVD+Audio.htm (CD Universe-also very good)
-http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=1219177123/ref=sr_nr_p_n_binding_browse-b_4?ie=UTF8&rs=5174&keywords=dvd%20audio&bbn=5174& rnid=387643011&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Advd%20audio%2Ci%3A popular%2Cn%3A5174%2Cp%5Fn%5Fbinding%5Fbrowse-bin%3A387646011 (Amazon)

If you search, I've posted ALL of my DVD Audio discs as well as some Dual Discs I've got too.

A few questions, the DVDAs you can make with Adobeman's free GUI, are they of the same or near same quality as retail DVDAs? How much difference is the sound quality between DVDAs and MP3s in our TLs?

That's because no one carries them anymore. Look, you guys have to realize that you're trying to find a music format that was basically done and finished a couple of years ago.

I have not tried Adobeman's free software, but I understand it's very good. But to answer your other question-the sound quality between DVD Audio and MP3's is GIGANTIC. Realize that MP3's are squished down about 7 to 8 times from a regular CD. And even regular CD's don't come close to DVD Audio sound quality.

My advice is to get on those website I've listed and purchase some DVD Audio discs-you won't be disappointed. The sound quality is worth the extra money.

I've made a few DVD-A disc's and it's night and day compared to my MP3 disc. The sound separation is incredible. The only REAL DVD I've heard is the demo that comes with the car.

Yep...MP3's are for convenience. DVD Audio's are people who care about how well the music sounds-not having 100's of songs on a disc.
