DVD Audio Groups?

Umm, yeah, i'm pretty new to this DVD-A stuff. I burned a cd the other day and it works, but how do I access Groups 2 and 3? I can only listen to Group 1 in the car...

Yeah, I'm sure the answer is going to be super basic and i'll feel pretty stupid

Thanks for any help in advance though!

You can change groups by pressing the scan and repeat button at the same time.

I ran into the same problem the other day, but thought I just wasn't remembering the post correctly where it said the buttons to press, but I was using the right buttons. The problem was that I was just pressing them together, and releasing right as I pressed. You have to hold them down for about about a second and a half, then you'll hear a beep, and it'll switch to the next group.

FYI, if you're playing a disc with groups, it will not automatically play the next group. After the last song is played in that group, it will change discs. You have to manually select the next group which, IMO is a PITA.

This because on a commercially pressed disc, the other groups generally represent different versions of the same material (i.e., a 5.1 mix in group 1 and a stereo mix in group 2).

I generally use the groups only if I exceed 99 songs.

When you're talking about "groups," are you referring to different blocks (i.e. folders) of songs on the same DVDA disc? I haven't tried to burn a disc like this yet because I wasn't sure if the TL's stereo could read a disc formatted with folders.

DVD-A my butt

HELP!!!!!

I am using Roxio Creator 9 and i am trying to create a DVD-A. I'm using DVD+R 16x 4.7GB 120min/vid RW I tried -R and did not work either.

Is it different than Music DVD & why is my 06 TL Spitting them out? (FORMAT)

I am VERY disappointed with Honda. Some people are so smart they are STUPID!!!

I think they may have been think too far ahead with this whole DVD-A thing.

yes using http://www.cirlinca.com/ you can create groups. And by pressing the SCAN and REPEAT buttons by the tape deck (hold them both for at least 1-2 seconds until it beeps once) it'll change groups.

But say i have 3-4 groups, and get out of the car...is there anyway of knowing what group i left off on? Or do I need to have a print out of whats on the DVD, then scan through a few songs to see what group I'm in?

Burning DVD-A discs

If anyone has problems burning discs then maybe this info will help out some. I use Cirlinca DVD Audio Solo program, Sony DVD-R discs (which for some reason work best with my '04 TL), I burn my discs at x4 speed, disable screensaver and all anti virus programs, plus do not perform any other tasks on the pc while the disc is burning. Adobeman's program which is available on this forum works great also but the Cirlinca program is very easy to use considering the GUI. I went through tons of different types of discs and found that the type of media you're using could cause problems. Sony DVD-R discs definitely work the best from my personal experience.

Too bad my PC doesn't have a DVD drive; only my iBook (non-Intel chip) does. No one writes shareware for Macs!!!

It will stay on the same group until you manually change it. If it's the last song on that group then it will change discs.
