Dumbest Question On This Board

how do you remove those plastic clips (in glove box & trunk liner) without breaking them. most threads on install i have read say pry with a screwdriver. well i am 0-3 and have tried a screwdriver and needle nose....but they all crack and break.

do you think the dealer have some to replace with?

i dont use a screw driver. i have this little tool, i cant remember what its called, but it goes in just like a screw driver would, and its in the shape of a 'U' so it hugs the inner part and not letting it break. works like a charm everytime.
I use to try the screw driver, the needle nose, fuckin my fingers and everything. broke so much shit everytime haha

Stick the screwdriver in as far as you can and turn it. Do not try to pull it or pry it. Turn the screw driver 90 degrees and eventually it will pop out.

Lol. Its called a panel popper. They still crack anyway. They are one way clips as I call them. I bought new ones when I was fussing around in my trunk to save me the anxiety of trying not to break them. They cost like a buck.

the glove box ones you just push in the middle. for the trunk ones stick your screwdriver as closest you can get to the middle and turning it 90 degrees. like if you were prying it off and turn the screw if you have to to remove it evenly. you can also using your thumb you back pressure while just trying to pry it off. look for removing front bumber video. its the same clips. just bigger.

if removed correctly and still intact just pull the 2 piece apart, stick in the conduit piece then the locker pin or just pull the locking pin far enough to not interfere with the conduit piece going in.

sorry for all my new names for pieces but that what they are TO ME lol.

also try and gently re-bend back the conduit/base prongs such that they'll fit in the hole/socket again... last thing to do is put the pin all the way in...

if you don't wanna bother replacing them, you can use any sort of glue/adhesive (quick dry/cure) and inject a bit into the conduit hole and THEN place/seat the pin so that it'll lock an otherwise now loose unit.

Mine comes off with just my fingers. All you need are a good set of Raptor claws

Haha. I read some other post and some guy was talking about how anal you are. Take it from this guy. He would replace his clips if the angle of the clip was not perpendicular to the body of the car.
