are the TL's audio controls considered a double din?

the reason why i ask is because i bought the sony wx-7700 from japan, and its a double din unit.

is there a conversion kit?

would install be easy?

also does anyone have a picture of the console without navigation?

see, i think you could remove the entire radio and then do a customized double din...i don't know if anyone actually makes the dins for the 04+ TL's but it looks like it could be done...

 

The problem is, the radio, nav and AC controller are one piece. I don't think anybody makes the kit for this car yet.

 

No it's not...the radio is separate (if you have nav) from the climate control buttons (which are next to the navi screen)....

the only problem i could think of would be the circular volume knob and the radio tuning knob because they take a portion of the aluminum trims...however, if you build a custom unit and just cover that up with some aluminum trim then you should be fine...the other thing to look into would be the dimensions of the din though....
