Red face Does anyone know what this box on my windshield does/ is?

Hi all!

Could anyone let me know what this box is and what it does please? It has no markings or writing at all and the wiring goes into the roof of the car. Car is an Acura TL 07 w/ Nav

Thank you!

Thank you for the response!

I a financing the car but I have excellent credit so I don’t think that would be from DCU.

I cannot think of what it even could possibly be with the wiring going into the roof like it needs power. If I figure it out, I will definitely post.

Can you post a better picture of the adjacent label unless of course you positively know it isn't related to the device.

thank you! I’ll see if a mechanic can find a remote start but def has keyless entry though the first post says it’s not stock and this model has keyless entry.

When I bought mine, I had the gps transmitter and code pad on my windshield. Then I have found the remote transmitter for passing the immobiliser under the steering wheel. The start/stop button was removed as well as the respective module, so only the bunch of wires left. The funny or maybe not funny thing was, the transmiter under the wheel was sticked with one of the keys (blade broken). So if anybody tried to steal the car they wouldn't have to pass the immo😀 Fortunately, the car isn't common in EU, so no one was interested in stealing it. You would better check it 🤷

You realize that "Acura" is mainly a North American brand, hardly sold anywhere else right? It's even built right here in the US, Ohio to be specific.

Further, manufacturer's have been implementing immobilizer's in OEM cars since.... the 90's? Not new at all.
