I am in the process of looing for/buying a new car and i was wondering what you all thought about the Bluetooth feature in the TL and what you're experiences using it were. Should this be a feature I have to have, should consider getting, could live without...?

Vote #2.

In NY, the law has banned the use of Cellular on cars, you have to use hand-free system. Lots of ppl have tried to use headset (sometimes you may feel uncomfortable to have it on ears), and others like to have speaker connected(the shop has to install into your car). Bluetooth does provide you the convenience and make your cabin clean. This would be the trend for those high-end car makers to follow in the future.

Meanwhile, it also enhance the safety of driving.

I'd say Bluetooth is one of reasons why I've purchased this car. Sooner or later, states will ban on using cellular phones on cars, and ppl will start to look for all the possible and convinient ways to talk on cars. Bluetooth is one of them.

One of my pet peeves has always been people talking on cell phones while driving. I rarely used my phone in the car before I got the TL, and then, only with a headset. When I first got the car it was cool, but now I don't think I could live without it. It's not like DVD-A or XM wich make the car more enjoyable, the HFL adds to the usefullness of the car.

If you are driving by yourself and use bt speaker then its ok. When you have passengers in the car, although it is a cool feature, you wouldn't want a buddy of yours to start mouthing off stuff if you have business clients in the car or your in-laws.
